This
Album is a collection of simple songs. They're all written and arranged
by me. The musicians are all pickin' buddies of mine up in Alaska. They're
assorted members of two of Alaska's best acoustic bands, Clark County
(a
traditional bluegrass band) and Moonshine Run (an acoustic jam band).
I feel privileged not only to have them on the disc but also to have
them as friends. That is what this collection is about. It is the people
I have met, the places I have been, and the stories that have unfolded
on the roads between Dalton, GA where I was born and Fairbanks, Alaska, where
I live now. Its roughly 5 years of travel, crossing the continent 8
times, thousands of people and countless miles condensed to 33 minutes,
10 songs and 7 musicians and 1 CD. Thus the name Appalaskan Folkgrass.

In addition to numerous "live on the air" music festivals, I have also had the pleasure of performing and being interviewed on the Eat at Joe's show on KSUA (91.5 FM College, AK), Alaska Live on KUAC (89.9FM Fairbanks, AK an NPR Station), and on The Dunham's on Z93 (92.9FM Atlanta, GA).
Through the years I have been fortunate enough to open for or share the stage with: Robbie Fulks, the Foghorn String Band, Tim Easton, Nora O'Connor, Keller Williams, the Stranger Stringband, Leftover Salmon, Hot Tuna's Barry Mitterhoff, Carl E. Hoffman, members of the Hit and Run Bluegrass band including Gene Libbea, and more Alaskan musicians than I could list here.
